Jerdog was started in 1998 by Jeri Lee, wife and mother of 3 boys, who happened to pick up the sport of tennis. When she first started playing, she made her own team their uniforms and realized that there was a market for a different style of tennis clothing. For the first 6 months, Jerdog clothes were custom made by Jeri to fit each customer. She brought her tape measure with her to matches and measured the girls she played against after the match. The demand soon outgrew Jeri’s abilities to produce and she hired a company to cut and sew. She also had to stop selling courtside and pass the business on to local tennis retailers and club pro shops. Oh and by the way, the name "Jerdog" is Jeri’s nickname that was given to her by her husband, Kurt, when they were dating in college.
In January of 2004, Nancy Jennings joined Jerdog as part owner, bringing over 15 years of sales and marketing experience. Jerdog now has sales representatives throughout the country in Southern California, Northern California, Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Atlanta, Florida and continues to grow. Through the website, word of mouth, and being involved in the retail tent at the Pacific Life open in Indian Wells, Jerdog is being sold to customers across the United States.
What seems to make Jerdog stand out from other tennis lines are the high quality stretch fabrics and bright colors that keep their brightness after years of wear. These great fabrics will always be a trademark of Jerdog. |
